October 27 Update

God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer.  Before the creation of the world He chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in His presence.  Because of His great love He adopted us through Jesus.  Through the precious blood of His Son we are set free from our sins. He revealed this great mystery through Christ and secured our inheritance through the indwelling Holy Spirit.  For these blessings we give Him praise, glory and honor and proclaim to this world how great is the love of God!

Snap Parliament Elections Held:

Yesterday, October 26, more than fifty percent of registered voters participated in snap parliamentary elections.  The purpose was to reset parliament after last year's EuroMaidan street protests, this year's capture and annexation of Crimea, and this summer's war in eastern Ukraine.  Many hope that these elections will result in a sense of legitimacy, unity and stability moving forward.  Unofficial early exit poll numbers show that six or seven political parties passed the five percent threshold for winning parliamentary seats.  Pray that they will be able to form some kind of unity for positively moving forward.

Kim's Teaching Ministry:

Kim is enjoying her fourth grade teaching ministry at Kiev Christian Academy.  She currently has ten students who come from a variety of backgrounds.  About half are considered English Language Learners whose first first language is not English.  This creates some educational teaching challenges but also some unique blessings and opportunities to impact families from around the world with the love of Jesus Christ.  Please continue to pray for Kim as Monday through Friday she takes these precious children under her care and supervision.



David's Discipleship Ministries:

David has been blessed to start two new discipleship groups.  The first group is going through series entitled "Walking in Fellowship with God - Disciples Prayer Life" by T.W. Hunt and Catherine Walker.  Together they are learning to develop more effective prayer lives.  David asks your prayers for Oksana, Lena, Nadya and Danial as they develop their prayer lives.  The second group is going through a series entitled "A Call to Growth - Establishing the Growing Believer" by Billie Hanks, Jr.  Together they are establishing good spiritual habits of a growing disciple of Christ.  David asks your prayers for Nina, Ira, Ruslan and Sergei as they grow in their personal relationships with Jesus.  This past week someone told David of the possibility to start another discipleship group.  So, David asks your prayers for the growth of this personal discipleship ministry.

Children's Corner:

We have been blessed to be able to parent some wonderful children.  Our son, Austin, seems to be doing well in his first semester at University of Texas at Dallas.  We really miss him and are looking forward to his coming "home" during Christmas break.  Pray for Austin to make smooth transitions and to develop supportive Christian relationships there.  Karyn is enjoying her sophomore year here at Kiev Christian Academy.  She has been active in music, choir, soccer, and track and field.  She is in the process of making preparations for the future taking exams such as the PSAT.  Pray for God to develop her interests, talents and positive Christian relationships.  Kaitlyn is doing well in first grade.  She received positive marks on her first reporting period.  We have been blessed to observe her development.  Pray for her continued development and that one day she would trust in Jesus as her personal Savior.
