Preparing for Transitions

Career missionaries experience many transitions. They leave behind family, friends and the familiar for long periods of time traveling to far away lands, speaking foreign languages and developing friendships in different cultural ways. Our family, having spent a year in the States traveling and raising financial support, is about to make a major transition back to life Ukraine. Even though we have made this transition before we still need your prayers for the challenges ahead. This month we ask you to pray for strength as we say good bye to family, friends and supporters. Some we may never see this side of heaven. Others we may not see until our next planned stateside ministry in 2011. Pray for the many logistics involved in moving an entire family overseas. Pray for our passports and visas to be processed on time. We have been waiting for more than 10 weeks and have yet to receive them. Pray for us to find good tenants to lease our stateside home for a long period of time. Pray for us to sell most of our stateside furniture and belongings. Pray for our packing and shipping of belongings and home schoolling materials to Ukraine. Pray for the travel and transition to life overseas. For several weeks we will be without a vehicle and will rely upon public transportation. Pray for our upcoming ministries. Soon after we arrive David will begin serving as interim pastor of Living Vine Church. We hope to grow the outreach program and small group ministry during our stay. Pray for David's teaching ministry at the Christian university and for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Lastly pray that our financial support needs would be met throughout the entire four years so that we can focus on ministry more than raising support from overseas. We give thanks to the Lord for our blessed partners!

Blessings: David, Kim, Austin, Karyn and Kaitlyn
