Dear Praying Family,
March has arrived. But, as of yesterday parts of Ukraine are still receiving snow. In fact, we have had snow on the ground since before Christmas. Basically temperatures have remained below freezing sometimes dipping below 0 degrees F. This has been the coldest hardest winter of my lifetime! So much for global warming!
Also, during this time we had to move into another house. This took many trips across the city. There were other problems with the move. It also turns out that the house is located in an area of Kiev with an unstable electrical system. Sometimes the electricity goes off. Other times the electrical supply is only 70 percent of the standard voltage. So that appliances would work I had to install a voltage stabilizer on the house.
Also, in the middle of winter our car broke down. It was in the repair shop for several weeks awaiting parts to be shipped from abroad. We spent the coldest part of winter running in the snow to the bus stop and ducking into buildings to avoid the cold and snow.
Now that we have settled into our new location we look forward to future life and ministry here. Though the work load is sometimes challenging Austin enjoys eighth grade at Kiev Christian Academy. He is almost as tall as his dad. Karyn is enjoying homeschool this year. She likes art projects and piano lessons that she just started. Kaitlyn is learning how to talk. It was at Austin's birthday in February that she first learned how to sing "Happy birthday to you." David is looking forward to some ministry opportunities. This month David will travel to Israel for ministry and research. In April David will teach a class to seminary students from the Old Testament prophetic books. He also periodically preaches and serves in the church.
We ask for your prayers for God to continue to work in and through us that we might be His instruments in His service in this part of the world!
Blessings,
David, Kim, Austin, Karyn, and Kaitlyn
