March 2011 update

Tuesday evening English outreach classes continue to be a success with more than 25 in attendance.  Our English outreach team teaches three levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced.)  Students come from various backgrounds.  But, they are mainly college and career people.  They are studying or working as nurses, electical technicians, plumbers, subway workers, and waiters.  Though we teach English our ultimate goal is to introduce unbelivers to Christ and to disciple believers in the Word of God.  So, some have come to Christ.  Others have been growing in their Christian faith.
Baby Dedication at LVC
Thursday evenings a Voznasenya Church discipleship group meets in our home.  We are currently taking a group of young people, college and career, through a video series on relationships.  The series was produced by Chuch Ingram and translated into Russian.  We have been impressed to see young people wanting to honor God in their relationships at work, in the home and in church.  We pray for God to use these young people as witnesses of Christ in their spheres of influence.

This month David had the privilege of performing a baby dedication at Living Vine Church.  About a year ago a couple who work at the Nigerian embassy in Kiev asked David to perform their wedding program.  Recently they had a daughter and wanted David to perform a baby dedication in Living Vine Church.  So, the photo is from the recent baby dedication when family and friends prayed over Silas, Ruth and their baby, Joan.  Having opportunities to serve internationals in Ukraine has been a blessing for David.  It is a blessing to have an impact that reaches beyond Ukriane into the international community.

Can you believe that 4 years have passed since our entire family has been in the States?  When our family left the States Kaitlyn was only 1 month old.  Soon she will turn 4 years old.  We recognize that the time has come to reconnect with family, friends, and supporters.  So, we applied for and received permission for a 6 month "home ministry assignment" otherwise known as "furlough."  This month we purchased airfare for the family.  We arrive in the States on June 10, 2011.  We praise the Lord that He has already provided for housing, schooling, and transporation while in the States.  We have already scheduled to attend some family reunions and missions conferences.  We would love to visit individuals and churches too.  So, if you would like a personal visit, please let us know.  We look forward to spending some time and sharing our lives with you!
