Friends from Texas Tech University |
Since arriving in the States on June 10 the Spireks have given mission presentations in about 7 Sunday school classes and prayer meetings. We were able to visit some friends and supporters from Texas Tech that we had not seen in 20 years. Our children have experienced some of their home culture for the first time going to a swimming party, a professional baseball game, an Independence Day fireworks show, and various church youth meetings. We have enrolled Austin and Karyn in Poetry Community Christian School for the fall semester. Also, we have planned a much desired family vacation during the second half of July where we will spend a week with Kim's mother, brothers, sisters and their children at a beach house in North Carolina. The last time we saw some of the family was more than 6 year ago. In summary, we are really enjoying this "home ministrty assignment" reconnecting with family, friends, supporters and our passport culture. Please continue to pray for us as we travel, visit family, friends, churches and supporters, and renew our strength for future service on the mission field.

Service for Ruslan and Rosio |
We would also like to ask for your prayers for the church back in Ukraine. We miss our dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Vosnasenya Church recently commissioned a Ukrainian family, Ruslan and Rosio Tsitsey, as missionaries to Kazakhstan. This was a huge step of faith both for the Tsitsey family and Vosnasenya Church. The church does not have many financial resources. They do not even have enough money to pay their pastor. However, by faith they commissioned this family and are sending them to another country to share the good news of Jesus Christ. So, please pray for the Tsitsey family as they are training and raising additional financial support for their mission to Kazakhstan. Pray for the ongoing work in the Ukrainian church. They need to finish the interior work on their sanctuary and need to develop more outreach programs into the community. Pray also for their pastors as they work in challenging financial circumstances.
Blessings - David, Kim, Austin, Karyn, and Kaitlyn Spirek
