The Spirek family recently returned from their first trip to Louisiana.  Back in the 1990s the Lord opened the door for the Spireks to give missions presentation in a group of Bible churches in Southwest Louisiana.  So, every time we return to the States we have been going back to visit our church family in Louisiana.  We were particularly blessed this time to meet the new pastor and family of Broadlands Bible Church.  During the Sunday service we gave our missions presentation and preached a short message on Biblical principles for bringing in God's spiritual harvest.  Though the weather was not ideal, we were glad to see all the rain from the tropical storm. It had been months since we had seen any significant rain.

Book on Adoption

The Spireks have a busy weekend coming.  On Saturday David drives back to Louisiana to give a missions presentation and to reconnect with the people of Green Oak Bible Church.  This was one of the other churches with whom we established a relationship back in the late 1990s.  We have really appreciated their love and partnership in the gospel throughout the years.  While David is in Louisiana Kim and the children will be in Texas.  About a month ago Kim was invited to participate in the Lake Ponte Church Adoption Conference  (http://www.adoptionconference.net).  Kim was asked to share on a panel and to speak from the perspective of an adult who was adopted as a child.  We believe that God gave this opportunity for Kim to bless families who are already raising adopted children or who are considering international adoptions.  While Kim is at the conference Kaitlyn will be in the church nursery and Austin and Karyn will be spending time with some of their friends.  So, we ask your prayers this weekend for effective ministry and safe travel as our family serves Christ in various venues and capacities.  (The photo is of a book that we recently learned about on the theology of adoption.  We recommend this book to those involved with adoption.)
