August 10 Update

August temperatures have been heating up.  But, summer has been winding down.  Kim's ministry trip to Brenna's House orphanage in Lutsk went well.  She had a great time serving the children and visiting with her cousins who manage the orphanage.  We would like to ask you to pray for the children.  They come from so many disadvantaged backgrounds.  But, we praise the Lord that now they have a more stable situation at Brenna's House.  We ask you to especially pray for Yulia.  She is such a sweet girl who deserves a family.

This past week David had an opportunity to drive to the village of Morozovka about 50 kilometers from Kiev to share in the camping ministry of Open Bible Ministry.  This is a village with about a thousand people. Back in the Soviet days the village was known for its chicken farm.  The "chicken factory" used to employ many people.  Today, however, times have changed.  Farming communities provide very few jobs for the people.  At any rate the children camp went well.  About 25 children attended.  Most of them were unbelievers.  I would like to ask you to pray for Maxim (see the photo).  I was particularly blessed to make friends with him.  Pray also for the small Baptist church in the village to make necessary changes in order to reach out into their community.
