Thanks for your prayers! The Spireks safely arrived in the States. Initially we were glad to receive a break from the stressful situation in Ukraine. But, now we are beginning to consider the stress of the States to be greater that that of Ukraine. Since arriving we have had to deal with long lines in airports, lost luggage, vehicle repairs, motel reservation issues, living out of suitcases, and most recently being rejected by our own people in our home state. Let me explain that last part. This summer we traveled to the States primarily to help our son transition into university life. As many of your know our son graduated from Kiev Christian Academy as salutatorian and received very high SAT and ACT scores. We are trying to enroll him in the University of Texas at Dallas. Yesterday we learned that since he enrolled late they will not give him the standard academic scholarship. Today we received an automated letter saying that they reject his in-state residency status. (This is despite the fact that he was born in this state, we own a house, we have in state drivers licenses, etc.) Today we have to return to the university to explain the details and correct their assumptions. Please pray for God to open the minds of the university staff to accept Austin's in-state residency and academic achievements. Since we have to return to our work in Ukraine we only have a short time to resolve these issues. Pray for God to resolve these issues quickly.
