About a month ago one of my disciples "D" introduced me to a friend that he had recently met at his dormitory. The young man, "S", happens to be from Bangladesh. He is studying in one of the local universities. Anyway, to gain better future job prospects "S" wanted to improve his English skills. So, "D" brought "S" to our Lighthouse English club and Bible studies. Last week "D" asked me to help "S" practice the pronunciation of words with the "th" sound. "D" opened the Bible to Romans 6:23 that reads "For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord." As we were practicing "th" words and discussed the meaning of this verse I could feel the Holy Spirit at work. "S" accepted that he is a sinner... that the results of sin is death... that only a perfect sacrifice could pay the price for his sin. I thought "S" was going to trust Jesus as his personal Savior. But, when we got to the part about "eternal life" and "resurrection from the dead", "S's" rationalism began to block his growing faith; and he changed the topic. Please pray for God to open the faith of "S" to understand and receive the Good News of Jesus.
