October 7 update

In the television series "Highway to Heaven" an angel named "Jonathan Smith" and his human friend named "Mark Gordon" are sent on some unusual assignments to bring God's love to various people going through tragedies and hardships.  Watching this series I drew some parallels to the missions. Missionaries may travel overseas with their plans and ideas about ministry.  But, these ideas and plans are often redirected as the Holy Spirit leads.  For example, I never imagined that I would be helping refugees who have run away from a war.  But, God opened the doors for me to provide clothing, bedding and toys for refugees who relocated to Kiev region.  God allowed me to open a charitable fund for Ukraine refugees.  God also opened the door for me to travel to eastern Ukraine this weekend to make contacts with Christians working with refugees closer to the front line.  Another surprise ministry that God brought to my attention was encouraging children cancer patients in a cancer hospital.  Nina and Ruslan invited me to participate in this ministry of encouraging the little children undergoing radiation treatments.  God sent us to bring some love into their tragic life situations.  I am writing this post to say "thanks" for your prayers and financial support enabling us not only to perform our regular assignments of making disciples and teaching but also to perform these other "little" assignments of encouraging refugees and cancer patients.
