April 26 update

Thirty years ago today, on April 26 1986, one of the reactors at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl in northern Ukraine exploded spewing radiation into the atmosphere affecting the lives of many.  In the initial hours and days the government at that time attempted to cover over the accident.  They built a makeshift concrete sarcophagus over the reactor.  Many lost their lives and health.  You can read about the story here. Today the world community is constructing a new containment structure to place over the current failing concrete structure.  Throughout the centuries Ukraine has suffered much through war, famine, Chernobyl and other calamities.  So, pray for the Ukrainian people to overcome not only the physical and historical obstacles but also the spiritual obstacles seeking to prevent them from knowing their Savior, Jesus Christ.
