Today I am starting a new "blog" series on why and how believers should and could pray for their missionaries. You can probably come up with your own list of reasons. But, perhaps this series will serve as a reminder and encouragement to pray more often. So, what is the main reason to pray for missionaries with whom you are connected? Well, probably the main reason to pray for missionaries is that they are involved in God's work. Missionaries can do nothing by themselves. God has to do the work of salvation, sanctification and producing spiritual fruit in people's lives. Missionaries are really dependent upon God to do His work both in and through them. If God is not at work then their work is in vain. So, pray for God to do His perfect work in and through His chosen vessels. Pray for missionaries to stay dependent upon God, to constantly abide in the Vine, to be filled with and walking in step with the Holy Spirit so that God will accomplish His work on earth.
