Baptizing New Believers

Greetings from Ukraine where God continues to change lives. We have had a great summer of transitioning back to our overseas ministry! There have been a few challenges to living in a village. But, mostly God has blessed! One of the challenges has been in the area of transportation. As we wait for our vehicle to arrive we have had to completely rely upon public transporation. Since the bus only comes through our village once per hour we have had to develop both planning skills and our patience. Nevertheless, living in the village has been a blessing for the family. The children have enjoyed running and playing in the yard while we have enjoyed the good neighbors, clean air and quiet atmosphere being away from the city. When our vehicle arrives in September that should ease some transportation challenges. Minsitry has been a huge blessing! David has enjoyed planning and preaching a series on the parables of Christ. Our church has learned important lessons on following the ways of Christ and growing the kingdom of God. Our church itself has grown. This past Saturday we baptized Ivan, the newest member of our church, into the fellowship (Ivan is in the center of the photo.) This was a huge blessing for our church family to have a baptism and picnic together. After the baptism service several unbelievers came to our members and asked about the church. Pray for our church to reach out more into the community through our outreach ministries. In September we plan to resume our English outreach lessons, movie ministry outreach and youth meetings. Since we depend upon God we ask your prayers for God to provide relationships for these ministries. Pray also for David's preparations to teach some modular Bible courses at Kiev Christian University in October and November. Pray also for Kim and the children as she home schools Austin and Karyn while taking care of Kaitlyn. Our family, church, Kiev Christian University and many others appreciate your sacrifices of love and support that keep us on the mission field.
